The aim of this article is to explain Fakhraei's historiography in writing the book Sardar-e Jangal. The main research question is: how and with what method and approach did Fakhraei approach the historiography of the book Sardar-e Jangal of Guilan, and to what extent was he successful in this endeavor? This study addresses the main question using a descriptive and analytical method.<br><br>The research findings indicate that Fakhraei, with a scientific approach to history, engaged in historiography to increase society's knowledge of the Jangal Movement. He exercised due care in selecting sources and using documents related to the Jangal Movement. The distinguishing features of Fakhraei's historiography include avoiding hasty judgments, exercising caution regarding the figures within the Jangal Movement, and presenting an engaging style that does not tire the reader. Fakhraei based his historiography on a documentary and field method, drawing on documents, evidence, eyewitness accounts, and his own scholarly knowledge. As an innovative historian, he transcended the historiographical traditions of his time and left behind a valuable historical record of the Jangal Movement. ابراهیم فخرائی با وجود موانع سیاسی و فکری زمان حکومت پهلوی، به نگارش کتاب سردار جنگل پرداخت. وی در نگارش اثرش، با مانعی چون نگرش بدبینانه حکومت پهلوی دوم نسبت به جنبش جنگل مواجه بود،ولی با هوشیاری و صداقت علمی سعی‌کرد، حقایق‌نگاری کند.هدف مقاله مذکور، تبیین تاریخنگاری فخرائی در نگارش کتاب سردار جنگل است. مسأله اصلی تحقیق این است که فخرائی چگونه و با چه روش و نگرشی به تاریخنگاری کتاب سردار جنگل گیلان پرداخته است و تا چه حدی در این راستا موفق بوده است؟ در این پژوهش با روش توصیفی و تحلیلی به مسأله اصلی پاسخ داده می‌شود.<br><br>یافته‌های تحقیق نشان می‌دهد،فخرائی با نگاه علمی به تاریخ، برای افزایش معرفت جامعه نسبت به جنبش جنگل، تاریخ‌نگاری نمود. وی در منبع گزینی و استفاده از اسناد جنگل دقت لازم نمود.عدم قضاوت عجولانه و رعایت احتیاط نسبت به شخصیت‌های درون جنبش جنگل، سبک جذاب و عدم خستگی خواننده از مطالعه کتاب،از نکات متمایز تاریخ نگاری فخرائی است. فخرائی تاریخ‌نگاری خود را با روش اسنادی و میدانی و بر مبنای اسناد، مدارک، شنیده‌ها و دیده‌ها و دانش علمی خود قرار داده است. فخرائی به عنوان یک تاریخ نگار نواندیش، از سنت تاریخ نویسی زمان خود عبور کرد و تاریخ نگاری ارزشمندی از جنبش جنگل برجای گذاشت.
