Ahmad ibn Abi Yaqub ibn Zayd al-Yaqubi (d. 284 AH) was a great historian and geographer of the third century AH. The contents of Yaqubi's works on history and geography, especially the book Tarikh al-Yaqubi and Kitab al-Buldan, show that he was interested in studying astronomy books like his contemporaries and had studied famous works of this science.
This research aims to answer the question of how much Yaqubi was influenced by the science of astronomy and the science of astrology by examining the two historical and geographical works mentioned in an analytical-descriptive manner. The main issue of the research is to explain the position of astronomy in Yaqubi. The findings of this research show that Yaqubi benefited from the science of Astronomy and Astrology. He was influenced by the Ptolemy Astronomy and the works of astronomers such as Māshā'allāh and Muḥammad ibn Mūsā al-Khwārizmī.
